Dear Colleagues and friends,

It gives us great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 28th International Meeting of the Pediatric Colorectal Club, which will take place at the Zappeion Megaron in Athens, Greece from 28th to 30th August 2021.

Diseases of the colon and rectum in children such as anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung’s  disease,  inflammatory  bowel  disease,  idiopathic  constipation  and fecal incontinence present a special challenge to pediatric surgeons. Many of these diseases have a major impact on quality of life and warrant long-term follow-up and treatment into adulthood. In order to provide the best medical and surgical care to children with colorectal diseases, it is essential that we have the highest possible standards of education, training and research. The 28th  International Meeting of the Pediatric Colorectal Club aims to provide up-to-date clinical and scientific information on  all  aspects  of  pediatric  colorectal  diseases  and  malformations  to  practicing pediatric surgeons, pediatric urologists, pediatricians, pediatric gastroenterologists, basic scientists, nurses and patient support groups.

Athens is one of the most popular destinations in Europe, consistently featuring in all of the top ten most visited cities. Athens is also one of the world’s oldest cities, steeped in history and tradition, with numerous sightseeing treasures and excellent international   transport   links.   The   rich   Greek   heritage   and   its   contemporary multicultural cosmopolitanism constitute Athens’ unique charm and character. The city’s myriad cultural offerings, archaeological sites, huge variety of attractions, a superb venue directly located in the historic center and Greece’s undoubted appeals make Athens an ideal location for the 28th  International Meeting of the Pediatric Colorectal Club.

We hope that many of you will be able to stay longer and participate in the 22nd European Congress of Pediatric Surgery, which will also take place at the Zappeion Megaron in Athens from 1st to 4th September 2021.
